Hand worked tamboured shawl, in the style of 'plumetis' embroidery. Along two edges, rows of eyelets border undulating garlands of folksy flowers, with a larger spray including a hear motif in the main corner. Small floral sprigs are dotted over the rest of the machine made two-twist bobbinet. It is likely that this piece was made near the Flemish/Netherland border. The edges have been simply hemmed.
Condition is good for its age, but there are quite a number of small holes in the net and some small repairs.
