A band sampler with two different styles of alphabet, three crowns, birds, two tiny dogs and urns of flowers.  Worked by Jean Wilson and dated 1839.  Hemmed all around.

Condition - badly discoloured, but otherwise sturdy.  This piece would benefit from a conservation clean, which may improve the background colour and make the embroidery more legible.  There is some glue type residue on the reverse near the hems, so this piece may well have been framed at one time.

Brown linen canvas mostly worked in blue threads, with some pink and lilac threads.

Measures approx. 25cm x 45.5cm (9 3/4" x 18").

Price - £75.00
