A very long, boat-shaped handmade Russian (or Eastern European) bobbin lace stole, made using a heavy silk thread. It has meandering ribbons of clothwork forming a bold design with areas of wheatears for decoration.

Condition - there are quite a number of breaks and wear along the edges, particularly at the ends, so please view the pictures carefully.

Dates from the late 19th century.
