A gorgeous and very long flounce of handmade Point de Rose needle lace in the style of Venetian Gros Point.

It has a dense design of scrolling stems and exotic flower heads, raised work and a good variety of filling stitches and ornamented brides covered in button hole stitch.  This contains a HUGE amount of work.

Condition is very good - there are a few broken brides which need a couple of stitches each to re-secure - nothing major.

Antique white in colour with a tiny rust type mark near one end.

Dates from the 19th century.

Measures approx. 394cm x 19cm  (154 1/2" x 7 1/2") - 4 yards 10" long.
