Beautiful, VERY long, machine made lace shawl/stole successfully copying Blonde Bobbin lace, probably made on the Pusher lace machine. This example has gorgeous, large open blooms, and luscious foliage. It has a scalloped edge with an applied picot edge and a run-in liner. This hand finishing was more expensive, confirming that this is a quality piece.
Condition is very good - I can only a couple of tiny breaks in the net and some loose threads which need clipping.
Black in colour.
Dates from 2nd half of the 19th century.
Measures approx. 320cm x 39cm (3 yards 18" x 15 3/8") at its widest points.
