This is a beautiful veil with Honiton floral motifs applied to a machine made diamond net ground. It has a pretty, floral border, larger floral sprays to the corners and floral sprigs dotted all over. It retains its original ID label from the Castle Howard Collection. Condition is good but there are a number of repairs/tears in the net, the largest I have illustrated. Fortunately, these would not be very noticeable when draped. c1860-1880's. White to very pale ivory colour. Measures approx. 206cm x 198cm (81" x 78").
