Rare and exquisite linen 'baby's first vest' with early Bucks point ground edging to the neck edge and simple drawn-thread-work at the shoulders and cuffs. Colour - ivory with some faint marks. This piece has been conservation cleaned to stabilize.
Dates from the mid to late 18th century.
Measures approx. 24.5cm (9 3/4") from shoulder seam to hem and 44cm (17 1/4") from cuff to cuff end when measured flat.
