Grey mourning bonnet veil; Leavers machine made. It is quite rare to find this colour of mourning veil. It came from the Castle Howard Costume Collection, who made a special reference to it on their storage box. It is vaguely copying Bucks point in design with a sprays of roses growing from the leafy border, and it has large florets dotted all over. Appears to be made of silk, so it is very light-weight.

In good condition - there are a few small holes and a couple of repairs.

Dates from the late 19th century.

Pale grey in colour.
